The BMW M6 is a high-performance version of the 6 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand from 1983 to 2018, with a production break between 1990 and 2004. Introduced in a coupe body style, later generations were also produced as convertibles and fastback sedans, known as Gran Coupes. An M6 model was manufactured for each of the first three generations of the 6 Series. Production officially ended in 2019, at which point the model was replaced by the BMW M8.
