About this mod

BetterInventory is a highly configurable inventory and item-management overhaul for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. It replaces the default single-column inventory with responsive two-to-five-column grids while maintaining an enhanced native layout. All layout, typography, colours, spacing, item images, information density, sorting, and integrations are configurable via Mod Options.

Features

  • Responsive multi-column grids for melee, ranged, and Curio inventories.
  • Automatic inventory-window expansion with screen-boundary clamping.
  • Configurable item cards including weapon perks, blessings, item power, and maximum-potential modifier display.
  • Advanced inventory tools: Auto Crafter Helper (Brunt's Armoury), Automatic Curio Buyer, and experimental item-discard management.
  • Standalone modules for custom item names, name colors, and background colors.
  • Integration support for global store, character overview, and various popular third-party mods.
  • English and Simplified Chinese localization.

Requirements

  • Darktide Mod Loader
  • Darktide Mod Framework

Installation

  • Install the Darktide Mod Loader and Framework.
  • Extract the BetterInventory folder into the game's mods directory.
  • Ensure BetterInventory is listed after 'dmf' in mod_load_order.txt.
  • Configure settings via the in-game Mod Options menu.

Compatibility

  • Do not use with Inventory2D or its compatibility patches as they cause conflicts.
  • Integrations for third-party mods (e.g., GlobalStore, GodRolls, Weapon Kill Counter) activate automatically if the respective mods are installed.

Known issues

  • Some geometry settings require closing and reopening the affected view to apply.
  • Extreme customization settings are clamped to the UI canvas.
