Diesel Fuel System

About this mod

Features

• Every litre of diesel stores condition data: quality, age, water content, sediment, and microbes.
• Machines refuelled from your own tanks inherit the stored condition; base‑game stations still provide fresh diesel.
• Hand refuelling uses an 8.5 m hose delivering 2 L/s. Trigger can be held or latched; refuelling stops automatically when full. The K key releases the nozzle.
• Premium diesel contains higher cetane, detergents, demulsifier and stabiliser: better cold starts, cleaner injectors, longer storage. Regular diesel works in old mechanical engines but can foul injectors in common‑rail systems.
• Stored diesel degrades over time, accumulates water and microbes. Test with the dipstick in a sample jar, drain the bottom, treat with stabiliser/biocide, or order fuel polishing.
• Filters clog, restricting flow. Symptoms progress from fine flow with no load, to weak uphill performance, surging, then failure to start. Filter service life is 350–500 h on tractors, 400 h on combines; scaled to calendar (≈ 1 day per month → filter change every 4–5 in‑game days).
• Sediment bowls on every machine cause misfires and stalls if water reaches the injection pump.
• Step‑by‑step filter change using the band wrench; the removed filter remains in hand and can be sold as scrap.
• Air in fuel lines: hand primer for mechanical engines, ignition for electric lift pump on common‑rail. Starter cranks while you hold the key; the cause (air, clogged/missing filter, gelled or degraded fuel) is displayed.
• Refuelling with engine off is possible at stations, with the handheld nozzle, or at the fuel terminal.
• Loading island (fuel terminal) includes earth clamp, hose to outlet, valves, START button, automatic cut‑off, receipt with metered litres, and emergency stop.
