Arrow Arc - Ballistic Trajectory Prediction screenshot

About this mod

Arrow Arc draws the real parabola from the weapon's own fire direction, marking the landing point and distance for bows, crossbows, and hand cannons. The arc is calculated using gravity and projectile flight speed, ensuring the marked impact point is precise rather than an approximation.

Features

  • Visualized trajectory: A dashed arc displays the true impact point, marked with an 'x' and range.
  • Customizable aesthetics: Users can install optional add-ons to change the color of lines and markers (Red, Green, Blue) or disable specific UI elements (Line, Mark, Distance).
  • Console commands: Optional commands available if launched with -devmode (aa_line, aa_mark, aa_dist, aa_toggle, and aa_overlays).

Configuration

  • Add-ons are installed alongside the main mod.
  • Colors for lines and markers are independent.
  • Custom colors can be achieved via the provided template in the config file.
  • Disabling the mod: Open Mods/arrow_arc/Data/arrow_arc.pak with 7-Zip, edit Scripts/arrow_arc/config.lua, set enabled = false, save, and restart.

Known issues

  • Partial draws wait for the bow to settle; unusually slow draws trigger a 3-second fallback.
  • Third-person perspective may occasionally display stray lines due to camera and weapon alignment.
  • The trajectory line may occasionally lock onto nearby bows (NPCs, racks, or dropped items).
  • Moving with a crossbow or hand cannon may cause a brief flash of the line.
  • Shots into water are inaccurate due to game-specific water physics.
  • The line terminates at the first point of contact, even if the object is thin.

Changelog

  • Upgrading from 1.0.0: The mod now uses a unified modid. Users should install the appropriate add-on packs to replicate previous variant settings (Full, No distance, or Mark only).
