Combat Overhaul B screenshot

About this mod

This mod aims to create more dynamic and chaotic melee combat by rebalancing stamina and introducing chip damage mechanics. It is not designed for realism or immersion. Effects primarily trigger while the player is in combat stance and rely on animation detection for the player and the nearest NPC.

Features

  • Stamina: Increased total capacity and regeneration speed for both player and opponents; reduced damage penalty when out of stamina.
  • Damage: Implemented chip damage based on weapon attack, armor defense, warfare, and strength. Perfect blocks now consume stamina. Aqua Vitalis has been nerfed.
  • Debuffs: Enemies gain stackable warfare bonuses on ripostes and stackable penalties to riposte probability. The player gains warfare bonuses on successful ripostes. Normal blocks and unblocked hits cause faster equipment degradation. Unblocked hits may also inflict random temporary status effects, including combat skill reduction, stat penalties, exhaustion, hunger, or visual distortion.

Installation

  • Extract the mod contents into the Mods folder within your Kingdom Come: Deliverance II directory.
  • Optional configuration can be managed by adding specific lines to the user.cfg file in the game root folder.

Compatibility

  • Modifies several rpg_parameters. Other combat mods loaded after this one may alter the intended balance. Does not modify original items, perks, or buffs, except for Aqua Vitalis.

Known issues

  • Multiple nearby enemies or standing on corpses can interfere with animation detection logic.
  • Chip damage is not currently applied to NPC unarmed attacks to avoid unintended lethality.
