About this mod

This mod allows Handlers (Alma and Erik) to take physical damage from monster attacks. While they never lose health or faint, they can be knocked off their Seikret and will audibly react to damage. The mod uses a combination of Lua hooks and .user file editing to force Handler damage interrupts.

Features

  • Handlers can be affected by Bind, Deafen, KO, Paralysis, and Sleep status effects.
  • Handlers attempt to recover from status effects using items.
  • Automatically deactivates during quests where the Handler is not present (Zoh Shia, Gogmazios, Jin Dahaad, Omega Planetes).
  • Includes optional Proximity settings to adjust how closely Handlers follow the player.
  • Includes a feature in the REFramework script UI to reduce extreme knockback.

Requirements

  • REFramework with Loose File Loader enabled
  • Fluffy Mod Manager

Installation

  • Extract the mod files to the FluffyModManager/Games/MonsterHunterWilds/Mods directory.
  • If upgrading from a previous version, remove the old files first.
  • Activate the Enable Handler Damage toggle within Fluffy Mod Manager.

Known issues

  • Handlers take high amounts of damage due to a lack of armor, which can result in significant knockback.
  • High knockback may cause the Seikret to move at high speeds to rescue the Handler.
  • Does not affect Support Hunters.
  • Friendly fire from the player cannot cause status effect damage, only physical damage.
