About this mod

This framework enables the replacement of NPC portraits with higher or lower resolution versions, including support for animations.

It is a prerequisite for other mods and functions as a standalone utility, performing no actions on its own.

Unzip the mod folder directly into the Mods directory within the game folder via SMAPI.

Different resolutions or animations require metadata provided by targeting the "Mods/HDPortraits" game asset.
Content Patcher packs or equivalent IAssetEditor/Loader methods in C# may be used to target these assets.
C# modders may utilize the provided API to draw portraits and access additional functionality.
Documentation is available on GitHub, and a template mod is provided for developers.
