Bog's Monster Mash

About this mod

Retextures all vanilla monsters in the Pelican Town Mines. Future updates will extend to the Skull Caverns, Quarry Cave, and Volcano Mines.

Features

• Adds monster variants for visual variety and new loot drops. Variants are classified as COMMON, UNCOMMON, or SUPER RARE.
• SUPER RARE sparkly variants are extremely rare and grant special drops.
• Keeps all vanilla drops; bug meat has been redistributed to Grubs and Cave Flies.
• Does NOT change monster spawn rates; variant selection occurs after the game decides to spawn the monster.
• Companion mod “Bog's Monster Sanctuary” introduces a new building, monster raising, Krobus letters, 13 Monster Charmer Rings, a Summoning Circle, and monster soul drops.

Monster Information (selected examples)

• Bats: COMMON textures for regular, frost, and lava bats; no new drops.
• Bugs: COMMON ghost textures (green, orange, purple); NEW drops – Torch, Frozen Tear, Spirit Torch; vanilla bug meat removed, extra added to Grub and Cave Fly.
• Crab: COMMON Geode Turtle textures (clay, geode, frozen, magma); UNCOMMON Omni Geode Turtle (drops Omni Geodes); SUPER RARE Treasure Artifact Turtle (drops Artifact Troves).
• Duggy: COMMON seasonal variants (e.g., mandrake); NEW drops – Seasonal forage; SUPER RARE Starfruit Mandrake (drops Starfruit Seeds and Starfruit).
• Dust Sprite: COMMON mushroom textures (Common Mushroom, Red Mushroom, Morel, Chanterelle); UNCOMMON Purple Spore Spirit; SUPER RARE Magma Spore Spirit; drops matching mushrooms.
• Metal Head: COMMON Gem Mimic (random gem) and Furniture Mimic (random furniture); UNCOMMON Weapon Mimic (various weapons); SUPER RARE Golden Chest Mimic (Golden Mask, Relic, Treasure Chest, Golden Egg).
• ... (full list continues for each monster type as in source).

Configuration

• Iridium Color: choose green, pink, or purple for Iridium Ore Gargoyles (Stone Golems) and their soul color when Monster Sanctuary is installed.
• Monster Changes Everywhere: enable to apply Monster Mash changes in all regions, including mod‑added areas; disables other custom monsters of the same type.
• Super Rare Luck: set rarity influence to Easier, Standard (default), or Harder.
• Monster Choices: disable changes for individual monster types, which also removes their custom drops and textures.

Accessibility

• Partially compatible with Stardew Access; variants are described by vanilla names, but additional drops still apply.
• Trypophobia: Dust Sprite variants can be disabled in the config to remove Morel‑based monsters.
• Sound: use the No Fly Sound mod to silence Cave Fly buzzing.
