About this mod

Eighteen retexture options for the horse including Gypsy, DappleGrey, Donkey, BlueRoan, Appaloosa, Unicorn, Mule, Zebra, RedRoan, Paint, Haflinger, Fjord, BelgianDraft, Shire, Chestnut, Bay, Mustang, and Krobus. Optional saddle and bridle are included for each type.

Features

  • Compatible with Content Patcher (CP) and Alternative Textures (AT).
  • Integrated with Generic Mod Config Menu (GMCM) and Horse Overhaul.

Requirements

  • SMAPI
  • Content Patcher (for CP version)
  • Alternative Textures (for AT version)

Installation

  • Download the desired version (CP or AT) and unzip the folder.
  • Move the folder to the Stardew Valley Mods directory.
  • For AT, purchase paint tools from Robin at the Carpenter's shop to access the texture menu.

Configuration

  • Open config.json in the CP folder to change horse types or toggle saddle and bridle settings. Use the included reference.png to view available options.

Compatibility

  • Note that horse designs are taller than vanilla, causing hats to sit slightly low. Use Hats On Pets Plus to adjust hat placement on custom sprites.

Known issues

  • When using Horse Overhaul, change the left-click key for opening saddlebags to prevent conflicts with the Alternative Textures menu selection.

Changelog

  • Resolved missing red roan in config options and fixed a grammar mistake regarding the Gypsy horse in the reference image.
