Spouse Helper - Realistic Married Life

About this mod

Features

• Farm Work: Every morning at 6:10 AM the spouse automatically enters the farm and performs up to seven task types—watering, harvesting crops, foraging ground items (e.g., truffles), planting seeds (requires seeds in inventory), fertilizing (requires fertilizer), collecting machine outputs, and petting animals. Automatic mode follows priority order: watering > harvesting > foraging > machine collection > planting > fertilizing > petting. The spouse navigates via pathfinding and stops with a notification when the backpack is full.
• Interaction Menu: When within 2 tiles, pressing the configurable P key opens a menu with options to open the spouse’s backpack, assign or switch tasks, make the spouse follow, or have them take a break. Task assignment is only available before 4:00 PM; after that the spouse declines and suggests trying tomorrow.
• Spouse Backpack: An independent inventory with standard chest capacity stores harvested and foraged items. The player can retrieve items at any time; a full backpack pauses spouse activity.
• Proactive Calls: During work hours (morning to 5:00 PM) the spouse periodically calls the player, showing a pop‑up notification, an emote, and a time‑appropriate dialogue line. Calls occur roughly every 100–140 in‑game minutes (configurable) and have a 10 % chance to include a random gift.
• Speech Bubbles: Random dialogue bubbles appear above the spouse’s head while working or roaming the farmhouse in the evening. Frequency is every 15–40 seconds by default (configurable) and varies with the current activity category.
• Evening Routine: Fixed schedule—4:00 PM stop work and return home; 6:00 PM (toggleable) prepare dinner and hand it to the player (auto‑delivers after ~3 seconds if not present); 7:00 PM wander inside the farmhouse with evening bubbles; 10:00 PM go to bed, after which only a sleeping emote is shown and the menu is disabled.
• Rainy Day Behavior: Spouse follows normal routine on rainy days; the player can choose whether work continues on rain via settings.
• Dialogue Customization: All spoken lines are editable through JSON files.
• Follow & Date Feature: Press P near the spouse to open the menu and select “Follow me.” While following, pressing P opens a submenu for dating at specific locations (beach, mountains, forest, town, desert, farm, farmhouse, Ginger Island), staying in place, returning home, and assisting in mine combat (with exclusive combat bubbles). Date events are limited to one per day and may grant location‑specific gifts. Follow speed multiplier is adjustable in the config/GMCM.
• Spouse Wishes: Every Monday the spouse requests a task; completing it rewards rare items and gold. Accumulating completions eventually yields a thank‑you letter and a powerful functional ring.
• Outfit Feature: Every Wednesday the spouse gifts a full coordinated clothing set; up to 30 distinct sets are available.
• Affection System: If affection drops below a configurable threshold or the player gifts other marriageable NPCs, the spouse may refuse work and retort to menu commands. Jealousy duration and thresholds are adjustable; continued gifting while jealous triggers a “following” state the next day.
• Proactive Interactions: The spouse may approach the player to kiss, give gifts, or invite dates.
• Language Support: Russian and English translations are included; localization contributed by community members.
