About this mod

Killable Fish is a lightweight mod that allows marine life to be damaged and killed using existing in-game tools. It is not intended as a full combat overhaul; the goal is to provide basic self-defense against aggressive creatures using tools already present in the game.

Features

  • Existing tools can damage fish.
  • Fish can play death reactions or death animations.
  • Lightweight behavior change, not a weapon overhaul.
  • Fish respawn after leaving an area and returning.

Damage Values

  • Survival Tool hit: 25 damage.
  • Sonic Resonator blast: 125 damage.
  • Sonic Resonator V2 ranged bubble explosion: 250 damage.

Requirements

  • UE4SS for Subnautica 2.

Installation

  • For Steam: Install UE4SS, extract the mod files, and place the KillableFish folder into Subnautica2\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods. Ensure "KillableFish : 1" is added to mods.txt.
  • For Game Pass: Place in the equivalent Mods folder within the WinGDK directory.
  • A new save is not required.

Compatibility

  • Do not run with other fish/fauna killing or combat-overhaul mods. Test with only UE4SS and this mod installed if issues occur.

Known issues

  • Co-op is currently unsupported.
  • FourEye is currently unsupported.
  • Early Access updates may break the mod.
