HDR Support for Subnautica 2 screenshot

About this mod

Features

  • Adds an HDR toggle in the mod menu with various settings to tweak the image look.

Requirements

  • Windows HDR: Must be toggled ON in Windows Display Settings before launching the game.
  • UE4SS: Required for script injection.
  • SN2ModSettings: Required for the in-game Mods settings tab.
  • Read-Only Engine.ini: The game will disable HDR support on startup unless the config file is locked.

Installation

  • Install UE4SS in your game directory.
  • Ensure the latest SN2ModSettings framework is installed.
  • Extract the Subnautica2HDR folder into Subnautica2/Binaries/Win64/ue4ss/Mods/.
  • For versions prior to 1.0.4: Navigate to %localappdata%/Subnautica2/Saved/Config/Windows/, open Engine.ini, add r.AllowHDR=1 to the bottom, save, and set the file properties to Read-Only.

Important notes

  • Upon first launch, the mod tab will not show the HDR mod; restart the game to allow SN2ModSettings to register it.
  • To prevent conflicts when updating, remove the Subnautica2HDR.lua files from the SN2ModSettings/saved and SN2ModSettings/registrations folders.
