True Water is a water rendering overhaul for The Witcher 3 focused on making lakes, rivers, and underwater areas look more natural, consistent, and less overprocessed. It addresses strange glowing blue or overly saturated water at dawn, dusk, or during cloudy weather. Originally a fix to remove excessive surface foam, it has evolved into a water control tool that provides direct access to multiple visual parameters instead of relying on heavy-handed lighting or environment edits.
Available controls include Fresnel, brightness, fog, ambient and diffuse influence, caustics, foam intensity, and surface/underwater color adjustments. The mod aims to provide control over water appearance without breaking the game’s lighting, atmosphere, or compatibility with other visual mods.
